Not only should we anticipate Jim Carrey infomercials peddling his own line of neurotransmitter precursor amino acids, but Jenny, too, with her homemade cure for autism? To me, it's all part of the bad-psychiatry backlash: Too many people with side effects from medications poorly prescribed by physicians who don't know the first thing about integrative treatment, including nutrition. As for Northrup, she used to be sane. Maybe she's pandering to the market now. But her last book -- all 900 pages of it (my paperback fell apart when I opened it) -- really veered off into woo-woo. Yikes, it’s worse than I thought.
