More Tabloid Trash Coming Out of the UK on the Amanda Knox Case

The British should be thoroughly disgusted with themselves for the behavior of their tabloid press who have hacked into thousands of private voice mail accounts over the past decade or so in order to get seamy stories on their politicians and celebrities. They are a public menace. In the Amanda Knox case reporters like Nike Pisa published a series of lies, like that there was evidence of a clean up at the murder site, or that the police found a receipt for bleach purchased by Amanda’s boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito two days after the discovery of the body of the victim Meredith Kercher.

One of my favorites was when they published this picture as the bathroom of murder victim Meredith Kercher, which raised the question of how any sane person would take a shower there.

The fact is the picture was leaked by the Italian police to the British press and represented the bathroom after it had been treated with a chemical substance used to reveal blood not seen by the naked eye. It naturally turns pink, even in the absence of blood. The way the sink looked when viewed by Amanda Knox is here (see the original video of the entire bathroom here).

In fact there were only a couple of drops of blood and a single smudged bloody footprint on the bathmat. If I saw that I might think, oh wow, maybe my flat mate cut her foot. But it was hardly a bloody scene.

Only the British tabloids, as far as I know, were slimy enough to publish that picture.

You’d think after publishing a string of lies they’d give up, but no they’re back, with this article in The Sun by Nick Francis, in which they quote former head of the Carabiniere and co-author of the book about the case “Darkness Descending”, Luciano Garofano, as an “Italian DNA Expert” and “Italian version of CSI”. This is the same guy who claims you can get a time stamp from DNA, or you can tell whether DNA comes from blood because white corpuscles give off more DNA than skin cells. This is all complete voodoo science. The fact is that since Amanda Knox and Meredith Kercher lived together, it would be expected that Amanda’s DNA would be in the bathroom, deposited in the form of skin cells, and that after convicted murderer Rudy Guede killed Meredith, when he (as he has himself said) went to the bathroom to wash off the bood, it would mix in the sink with the substrate DNA of Amanda, which is what was found. They have several drops of blood that have the DNA of both Amanda and Meredith. Although the press reported that there were findings of “mixed blood” there is in fact no way of determining whether there is blood from one person and skin cells from another, or blood from two people. It is simply nonsense, and in fact the 427 page Massei report which represents the facts from the trial does not report mixed blood and explicity says that it is not possible to determine this. The UK Sun quotes Garofano:

We know Meredith was a karate expert. Meredith then probably hit Knox. I say this because drops of Knox’s blood were found at the crime scene, consistent with a nose bleed.

Dead wrong, Luciano. The crime scene was Meredith’s bedroom, and no drops of blood, no DNA, nothing were found there. There was a single drop of Amanda’s blood in her bathroom, which when pressed for an explanation by the police she said she had an ear piercing. There was no “mixed blood” anywhere. There is no need to “explain” this single drop of Amanda’s blood. She underwent a physical exam after her arrest and there was no skin break anywhere. There are extensive photographs on the internet of her neck after the murder and she has a hicky but no skin break. This fantasy about a nose bleed is just that, one more of the many convoluted stories that have been created to “explain” these nutter stories that are not based on a shred of evidence.

Luciano goes on to say the rape was “staged” after the murder based on the pattern of the blood spray.

Rape would have taken a long time and Meredith could have put up a fight. There is also too little DNA evidence to suggest she had been raped.

Wrong again. Rudy’s DNA was found inside the victim’s body. What more do you want? Right though that she was raped after being stabbed. She didn’t put up a fight about being raped because she was dying. Rudy stabbed her and then took after her clothes. Semen stains were found next to the body which the police inexplicably didn’t analyze. The Sun goes on:

Garofano also explains the involvement of Rudy Guede. He was a mutual friend of Knox and Meredith and may have been in a relationship with the victim.

Wrong, wrong. The victim already had an Italian boyfriend who lived downstairs. She and Amanda had been introduced to Rudy once. That is not “friends”. The Sun would say that she was a woman of high moral character, I am sure, so why would they opine that she was sleeping with her boyfriend as well as a homeless drifter who had committed three break-ins in the past few weeks? Give me a break.

He says: “The rock ‘thrown’ through the window is too big to have fitted through the gap.

Wrong again. The police claim that the outer shutters were pulled shut, but their own pictures show the shutter wide open. Even if we believe the police (in which case they allowed someone to alter the crime scene) it makes sense that after breaking in a robber would pull the shutters closed so people wouldn’t see him from the outside.

We also see that the glass of the smashed window falls all over the ransacked objects in the room. Yet Knox and Sollecito claim the window was broken by an intruder, allowing the intruder to climb inside and ransack the room, as well as rape and kill Meredith. If this was the case, the glass would be underneath the other mess. The window was smashed after the room was messed up.

Take a look at this photo that the Sun uses in their own article. Do you see glass on top of the clothes? Neither do I! LOL!

Also if you look at photographs of the room it is obvious that the room is not “ransacked”, e.g. all of the items are still on the table in order. It looks like a combination of messiness and maybe some clothes fell out of the closet when the intruder was climbing in through the window. There is an obvious piece of glass embedded in the interior shutter and glass strewn five feet across the room which could only have been caused by a rock thrown from the outside, not from the inside following the police fairy tale.
