Today is the 46th anniversary of my mother’s death. I’ve never “remembered” it before, much less blogged about it, and this year months in advance I promised myself to not let myself slide through the anniversary in a haze of depression or amnesia, as I have usually done. I didn’t really “know” about the anniversary until a few years ago, when I got active in making my family tree, since when the dire event occurred I wasn’t really following calendars and things. This year I went out and bought a statue of a Buddha with my wife and we put it into the formal garden of our home, called ‘Boxwood’ or ‘Dogwood Terrace’ in years gone by. I just snapped this picture.

Might be good karma or something because today I learned I am a finalist in the Charleston International Film Festival competition for screenwriters for my screenplay MURDER WITHOUT DEATH, the true story of Jack Birge MD of Carrollton GA who was framed by the owner of the Southwire plant and thrown in jail, and got an offer for publication by Shelf Stealers publishers for my book (with Lai Reed) YOU CAN’T JUST SNAP OUT OF IT: the Real Path Toward Recovery from Psychological Trauma.
