Whitney Houston, Another Xanax Victim

The pop star singer Whitney Houston is another celebrity musician who is a victim of prescription medications. In this case xanax, or alprazolam, which likely combined with other substances contributed to her demise at the age of 48 when she was found partially submerged in a bathtub in a Los Angeles hotel. Caution to the doctors and psychiatrists who prescribed that drug to her and to the doctors who have contributed to the deaths of the acting and singing talent of Los Angeleles. As for the so-called celebrities who commented about how she was always always uplifting and never dark, well maybe if she felt the opportunity to talk about the dark parts with her peers she wouldn’t be dead now. May she rest in peace.

It’s a sad and ugly cycle that never seems to stop. We are all so quick to idolize someone based on how their musical talent touches us but we forget that the talent comes from another human being with worries, fears, and insecurities just like us. Rest in peace Whitney…
What have we done? Our pendulum is swinging further and further from center, and we don’t seem to have a clue what to do other than damp down the fear and pain with drugs. There are answers, but they are in the realm of cosmology more than physiology. They start by looking at some of the big questions. We were meant to evolve as a species and have the resources, but our level of distraction makes it very difficult to be quiet long enough to touch the well of inner wisdom that is in us all.
