Who’s Next on the Celebrity Hit List?

Lindsay Lohan, party on

Lindsay Lohan, party on

A couple of months ago I wrote in my post “Another One Bites the Dust” about Hollywood actress Brittany Murphy dying at 33 from a combination of different prescription medications, including hydrocodone, acetominophen, methamphetamine, and chlorpheniramal. That was just one more to drop, after the death of socialite and Johnson & Johnson family heiress Casey Johnson (”wifey of Tela Tequila, who is now in rehab herself with Dr Dr on the Celebrity Rehab TV show. Casey was taking a string of prescription medications, including Oxycontin, Klonopin, Valium, Xanax, and Ativan. She was also using marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy, and had diabetes. She died at the age of 31. Actor Heath Ledger died from prescription medications including OxyContin, Hydrocodone, Valium and Xanax, and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom. Anna Nicole Smith died at 39 while on choral hydrate, Klonepin, Ativan, Benadryl and Topamax. This occurred just a few months after her son Daniel died from a combination of Zoloft, Lexapro, Serax, Valium, and methadone. And last year I wrote about the death of Michael Jackson, another victim of prescription medications.
These drugs include pain medications (Hydrocodone, Oxycontin), benzodiazepine sedatives used for anxiety or insomnia (Valium, Klonepin, Ativan, Serax, Restoril).

Tonight at 8 pm EST I will be on the Nancy grace show (Headline News) and the topic will include Lindsay Lohan.
Now Lindsay is off to jail, and the worst part of it for her will be that she can’t take her drugs with her. She apparently has been doctor shopping, and is on Zoloft, trazodone, Nexium, Adderall, and dilaudid.

Taking opiates, amphetamine stimulants, and psychotropics, and mixing them with alcohol and cocaine, is potentially a very lethal combination. When you put so many mind altering substances into your system, who nows what will happen. But unfortunately the end result is that these young starlets eventually stop breathing.

Another One Bites the Dust: Celebrity Deaths from Prescription Medications

I was listening to the Howard Stern show the other day when I heard Tila Tequila talk about the death of her “wifey”, socialite and Johnson & Johnson family heiress Casey Johnson. I was like, whoa, these celebrities are dropping like flies! What they all have in common is a death related to prescription medications. These are not suicides, either. Often they are taken at prescribed doses. So I thought I would do some more research for a speech I gave at the Emory International Medical Volunteerism Conference this weekend. Casey was taking a string of prescription medications, including Oxycontin, Klonopin, Valium, Xanax, and Ativan. She was also using marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy, and had diabetes. She died at the age of 31 in the guest house of a friend while her friend was out partying, and she wasn’t found for several days. Another young actress, Brittany Murphy, died at 33. She had pneumonia, but she got tipped over from her combination of prescribed medications including hydrocodone, acetominophen, methamphetamine, and chlorpheniramal. Here she is:

And then of course there is the death of Michael Jackson, which I wrote about before, another victim of prescription medications.
These drugs include pain medications (Hydrocodone, Oxycontin), benzodiazepine sedatives used for anxiety or insomnia (Valium, Klonepin, Ativan, Serax, Restoril)
Deaths from prescription medications are now more common than deaths from illegal drugs. When is this going to stop?

Oink, Oink, Said the Pig: Death of Michael Jackson

I have been following the death of Michael Jackson, and not only it [possibly] illustrates the death of another celebrity from prescription medications, but it also shows the importance of childhood abuse and neglect, and how the jerks who perpetuate it get off scott free.

Michael’s father, Joe Jackson, used to watch them rehearse and beat them with a belt if they did something wrong. He would trip them and push them into walls. One time he picked up Michael by one leg and beat him on the buttocks and legs. He took the proceeds of the Jackson 5 for himself. Just looking at Michael’s behavior as an adult it is obvious that he was a victim of childhood abuse.

But then, just in case you were unsure about this jerk, when interviewed by CNN after his son’s death, he said “we’re fine” and then went on to glibly promote his own new record company, taking advantage of the opportunity to be on the camera to promote his own business!

If this man doesn’t crawl under a rock, someone should suggest it to him strongly.

Here is Joe Jackon with the Rev. Jesse Jackon (no relation?) after Michael’s death outside his home. I always thought that Rev Jackson was a twit. What is he a Reverend of anyway? The religion of his own ego?
